GUIDE TO BUYING

How to Find Your Modest Wedding Gown Online

  1. Understand what “modest” means. Select a reputable company who specializes in modest wedding gowns for temple marriages. A gown can very well look modest, but could be slightly off from what you need. If you have any questions about a particular gown, don’t be afraid to ask.
  2. Know the company’s quality level. It is easy for a company to say they have high standards, so you have to do your homework to make sure.  Two gowns from different companies can look very similar, but can be made quite differently.  Remember a better fit from the beginning means fewer alterations. Inspect the company’s quality statement and ask questions.
  3. Take accurate measurements. This will ensure you order the most appropriate size. Make sure the company you order through always double checks your measurements against their size chart. The company should be just as concerned as you about selecting the right size.
  4. Check online security. You never want to provide your credit card number through an unsecured server. If you have any questions about security, it is best to place your order over the phone.
  5. Allow enough time. Once you have selected your modest bridal gown, order quickly. Make sure you give yourself enough time in case there are any issues and to allow for any necessary alterations. Provide the date that you must have the gown by and make sure the company will guarantee it by this time.
  6. When in doubt, call. If you have any concerns, place your order over the phone.  This way you can discuss you measurements and ask any questions you have. It is always best to talk to a person when placing an order.

Ordering your modest wedding gown online can be rewarding to your wedding day. Instead of one for two styles, you now have dozens to choose from. Thousands of brides order online every year and have wonderful experiences. Good luck in your search.

Take Your Measurements

Providing accurate measurements when you find your wedding gown online will ensure you receive the most appropriate size for your body. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Have another person help you.  It’s hard to hold the measuring tape just right by yourself.  Be sure to pull the tape so it is snug, but not causing any indentions and keep the measuring tape parallel with the ground.
  2. Measure around the fullest part of your bust (not underneath), your waistline, and your hips.  Your waistline is your natural waistline and not necessarily where you wear your pants.  Hips are usually six to eight inches below your waistline.
  3. Provide your measurements with your order.

Keep in mind for most wedding gown styles, the most important measurements are your bust and waist.  Also, if you are between sizes decide whether you want it to be real snug or comfortable. Typically ordering the larger size and having an experienced seamstress take it in a little is less expensive than having to let out a waistline.
