We have something special, unique, and so much fun to share with you today! Our beautiful bride Beth was the lucky winner of a Casablanca Bridal wedding dress. We collaborated with Casablanca Bridal to create her custom modest dream dress!

Casablanca Bridal | Custom Modest Wedding Dress

Okay, so this dress is an absolute MASTERPIECE. A dream! Our cute bride couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. Don't take our word for it though, hear it from Beth herself in this sweet testimonial she shared with us!

    "Latter- Day Bride/Gateway Bridal,

You guys are seriously my heroes. I got soooo lucky and won the most beautiful dress from Casablanca, and I am so so so thankful that I came to your shop to pick it out. It made me feel like an absolute princess. I honestly can't believe that you geniuses came up with this perfect dress for me! I wish I could wear it every day. I've included a couple of links of photos as well as our wedding video in hopes that you guys will look through them and feel the PURE JOY that I felt all day! I felt so beautiful, and I will never be able to thank you girls enough for making my wedding dreams come true. I wanted a Kate Spade inspired wedding, and seriously, the dress was the crowning jewel. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on it, and I've been just singing your praises to everyone who compliments it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am forever thankful for all of you cute people who made this happen.

    Beth Farley Jensen"

There's nothing we love more than a happy bride! We were so honored to be a part of creating this dress side by side with the amazing Casablanca Bridal, and we couldn't be prouder of the gorgeous result.

The two dresses Beth was having a hard time choosing between were our "Palisade" and "Claralise" gowns. Both super beautiful, but even more so when they're put together! Not to mention they fit her like a dream! See for yourself!

  • Christmas Wedding | Bronson Gown | LDS Bride Blog

Where are my engaged folks who are planning a winter wonderland wedding, or even better, a Christmas wedding?! Meet Bae and Nate, a beautiful couple who did just that, and pulled it off beautifully.

    Christmas Wedding | Bronson Gown

Bae and Nate's special day was a dream come true, complete with twinkling lights, a beautiful tree, and creamy white florals. Everything from the snow to the rich blue and silver color scheme to the sparkly snowflake accents made this Christmas wedding feel truly magical. Bae looked absolutely stunning in our "Bronson" gown, accessorized with bedazzled heels adorned by a delicate bow. Her hair fell in soft waves, pulled half up in an intricate twist topped off with a jaw-dropping brooch and sparkly veil. She kept her bouquet simple yet beautiful, with a huge bunch of ivory roses and rich peeking greenery. A soft smoky eye and pink lip color enhanced her beautiful features perfectly. Did I mention that at their reception, they sang to each other?! It's completely obvious how in love they are with each other, they look at one another with complete adoration. Scroll down a bit to see the pictures, and try not to get misty eyed.

Bae chose one of our most beautiful and unique modest wedding gowns, the "Bronson". This a-line/ballgown is a show-stopper all around. The sparkling lace accents throughout the tulle skirt were perfect for this winter wedding. The elbow length illusion sleeves and the Queen Anne illusion neckline add drama and undeniable beauty, and the buttons that trail down the back add a delicate flair.

  • DIY Wedding | Claralise Gown | LDS Bride Blog

Today on LDS Bride Blog we have the cutest little DIY wedding to share with you! This darling couple, Kendal and Cam, did all their own decorations and totally transformed a not so special room into something adorable. Even better, this lovely Southern bride chose one of our most gorgeous gowns for her big day! I can't wait to share this classic yet creative wedding with you, so let's dive in!

    DIY Wedding | Claralise Gown

Okay guys, this shoot is honestly such a treat to be able to share with you. Kendal and Cam were married for time and all eternity in the Birmingham, Alabama temple, which is such a neat building. Afterwards they got caught in a sudden storm during their photos, which made for some seriously cute "running through the rain" shots. The details in this wedding were carefully thought through, and came together in total perfection. I don't know where she found her gorgeous floral shoes, but I'm in love! Her bouquet from Petals of Serenity was perfection, with dusty pink roses, tiny white wildflowers with sunny yellow centers, and gorgeous muted greenery.

They decorated the entire room their reception was held in by themselves, a truly DIY wedding. Imagine the money they saved, and it turned out SO cute. They even made beautiful streamers from (get this) COFFEE FILTERS. What?! I would have never guessed that's what those were made of. How creative! Their reception was made complete with a beautiful three-tiered cake with ruffled white buttercream baked by Edgar's, accented by more dusty pink roses and the cutest darn cake topper I've ever seen (perfect for this DIY wedding, not too flashy but timeless and sweet). In true southern style, their DIY wedding reception was catered by Full Moon BBQ (yum). Can you really get married in Alabama without BBQ? Just sayin.

One of my favorite details is the cute candy bar they put together. "Love is sweet, please take a treat." was written on a darling plaque in the middle of the table. SO. CUTE. Every detail came together seamlessly for such a beautiful DIY wedding. They probably had so much fun decorating and planning together! They even had an "Oh snap" sign with their own unique Instagram hashtag for guests to use so all the photos from their special night would be in one place. Genius! It doesn't stop there though. They had a "Date Jar" where guests could write date ideas for the newlyweds! A memory table was also thoughtfully put together in honor of loved ones who had passed away and couldn't be there with them. Oh, my heart. They finished their special night with a bubbly sendoff surrounded by all their family and friends. So perfect!

Here's the spot where I get to gush about the dress! (You totally knew this was coming, I'm shameless) The Claralise! This dress is truly one of a kind, from the gorgeous lace bodice with a unique v-neck, a flattering waistline, and flowing a-line skirt. The best part though, are the flirty cascading layers that give the skirt tons of volume and beauty that you just can't find in another gown. There's nothing like it! Alright, I'm done gushing for now.

Enjoy the beautiful images from this DIY wedding captured by Anna Way Photography (Film Lab: Richard Photo Lab)!

  • Vancouver Temple | Berkeley Gown | LDS Bride Blog

Well, as the saying goes, there's a first time for everything! Today on LDS Bride Blog we've got TWO firsts... a beautiful Canadian bride and a real life "Tinder" love story with a funny twist. Not only did it end well, the two lovebirds ended up getting married in the Vancouver Temple, located in British Columbia, Canada.

    Vancouver Temple | Berkeley Gown

I received this email from gorgeous Larissa about her experience with LatterDayBride recently: "I was so happy to have found my dress at Gateway Bridal! I traveled all the way to SLC from southern Alberta, Canada to find the perfect dress to marry the man of my dreams in my hometown of Vancouver! I bought my dress at the beginning of December and got married May 6. I was so impressed with whoever helped me with finding my dress, she was so helpful and patient while FaceTiming all the family that couldn't be there to say yes to the dress with me, I'm sorry I can't remember her name! We got married on the most perfect day and in the most perfect place, the Vancouver temple. I have received so many compliments on my dress that I can't even count. I have also referred several of my engaged friends to Gateway Bridal because it seems impossible to find modest wedding dresses in Canada that don't break the bank or that are somewhat modest and still need a million alterations. It was still cheaper to get my dress in the states even with the exchange! You guys were just so amazing and helpful that I wanted to send you some photos of me in my dress. Thanks for everything and playing a part in my happily ever after."

Ugh... don't make us cry, Larissa! ;) Seriously so sweet and so amazing that she came all this way just to visit our store. Warms my heart! I was so excited to hear that someone would come so far, from a different COUNTRY to find her dream dress that I just had to know more, so I asked how she and her hubby met. Ya'll ready for this??

"I decided to move to southern Alberta after completing the dental assisting program back home in Vancouver. I could make more money in Alberta and the YSA community was extremely small in Vancouver. I wanted to move somewhere with more members and especially men to choose from. My now husband had no idea who I was for almost 6 months before we met and we were in the same ward that entire time. How I met my husband (Carter) is kind of a funny story. I had recently broken up with a guy and my roommate convinced me to try out Tinder. I wasn't too keen on it but I did it anyways. I ended up matching with both Carter and his roommate/best friend Bryan who in the future would be the best man in our wedding. The day after I matched with them I hadn't received any messages from them and I actually ended up deleting Tinder entirely because I thought it was dumb and didn't need an app to meet people. The day after that was Sunday and both of them sat in the pew behind me for sacrament meeting knowing then who I was. I felt the most awkward I ever had in my entire life and bolted out of the chapel and went home immediately following sacrament meeting. The next day was  family home evening and my roommate had to drag me because i really didn't want to go and apparently neither did Carter but his Bryan convinced him to go as well. We all ended up talking at the end of the night and it was really nice to actually talk to them. I was thankful that neither one of them brought up the whole Tinder thing....or so I thought. We ended up leaving at the same time as the guys and as I was walking to my car with my roommate, Bryan yelled out at me and said "Hey, we have a bone to pick with you about Tinder!" So I yelled back "Then do something about it!" I quickly got in my car and drove off. Apparently after my comment when Carter and Bryan got into the car, Carter called dibs. I thought they were super nice guys so I sent them out a games night invite for the next night to get to know them and a few other people better. I had made a dessert and everything, Carter was the only one who showed up to the games night even after other people had confirmed coming. Needless to say we got to know each other really well that night and found out we had so much in common! The rest was history. We decided to date through the seasons to make sure that getting married was something that we both wanted. We got engaged after a year of dating and got married 6 months later in May. It was honestly the best decision that I could have ever made! To be married and better yet sealed to Carter has been the greatest blessing of my life. It's crazy to think but every day I swear I love him a little bit more. He's the most considerate, funny, and loving man I could have ever found. The joy and love that I felt on our wedding day was inexplainable. My favourite part was putting on my dress and walking down the grand staircase in the Vancouver temple to meet my sweet husband at the bottom. His expression on seeing me in my dress was priceless. The tears in his eyes proved how beautiful I was to him. I could not have found my dress if it wasn't for you guys at Gateway Bridal. As I have said in my previous email to you you guys are amazing. It's so hard to find modest wedding dresses nowadays, especially for my tiny size! Thanks again for helping me find my dress. I have never felt more beautiful in my whole life than I did on my wedding day. My dress was everything I had dreamed of and was so perfect for me! You completed my happily ever after! I'm so incredibly proud to be a Shimbashi forever."

Well there you have it, folks. Such a funny, sweet, and unique love story! We're honored that she chose one of our dresses, and a SUPER gorgeous one that she totally rocked. The Berkeley gown is a lacy mermaid masterpiece with gorgeous detail at the neckline and sleeves, a flowing skirt, and subtle sequin details among the lace appliques. Excellent choice!

  • Winter Wedding | Alexandra and Andrew | LDS Bride Blog

Okay you guys, I have such a fun one to share with you today! I was recently contacted by the sweetest bride to share her enchanting winter wedding and her beautiful customized modest gown.

Winter Wedding | Alexandra and Andrew

So before we get into the pictures and the gorgeous details of this winter wedding, let me share their love story with you. I can't think of any person who could tell it better than the bride herself, so I'll tell you exactly what she told me! "I was born and raised in Colorado, big time Denver Bronco's fan (he is too now wink), outdoors lover, lacrosse player, and chocolate addict. He was born and raised in Idaho, and lived in Ririe, Idaho all of growing up. He is an awesome basketball player, big lover of Mexican food, binges on pizza and Netflix with me, and is also a total outdoors lover. I could go on and on about his qualities now so I'll just leave it at this- he's honestly just the man of my dreams. We met in college at a country dance, which is kind of funny because both of our parents met at a dance too... dances are lucky places for our families apparently! It was also funny that he was there because... he doesn't dance. Haha. His friend had him come for the last part of the dance that night, and it just so happened that that friend that drug him there that night was also a friend of mine that taught me how to country dance. Our mutual friend found me and said he wanted to me to come dance with his pal he had brought, and I wasn't really wanting to at first, but after asking a couple of times, I went with him to his friend (little did I know he was taking me to my husband!)... and lo and behold, there stood this tall dark and handsome man 😍. We danced to the last song of the night, (it was cute that he didn't know the steps, but we were more focused on talking to each other anyways) and the rest is history!" So there you have it. Isn't that such a cute story??

Alexandra and Andrew were sealed in the Logan, UT temple in January. They celebrated their beautiful winter wedding with a reception at The Serano Event center in Rigby, ID and as you'll see, it was a dream! Beautiful whites and warm colors, beautiful lights, and of course, snow! (you can't have a winter wedding without snow, right?) Alexandra's bouquet was perfect against the snowy landscape, with an assortment of rich greenery created by the master florists at Freckle Farm. Their cake was a white cake with raspberry filling and a white chocolate buttercream, with ribbons of naked cake subtly showing through and an adornment of beautiful green. Just lovely. She said it was so delicious that they couldn't even save any for their one year anniversary! Julie Brizzee must know her stuff!!

Alexandra chose the perfect gown for her magical winter wedding. She bought it at Amanda's Bridal and Tux in Colorado and had it altered for modesty. Kirsten Arvenitis from The Original Sewing Room in Parker, CO worked her magic and custom made the top of the dress to cover her garments. It turned out so beautiful! I love the illusion lace and the lace details along the skirt.

I hope you love this beautiful winter wedding as much as I do! I love a happy ending.
